This Privacy Notice explains how Fiction Loom collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you visit our website, place an order, contact us, or use our software and related services.
This Privacy Policy applies regardless of whether you obtain Note Weaver directly from Fiction Loom, through Apple’s App Store, or through Google Play. Certain payment and subscription information is processed differently depending on the purchase channel, as described below.

2. Information We Collect
We may collect:
- contact details such as name and email address
- purchase, transaction, subscription, and fulfillment information made available to us by the applicable payment provider
- license and activation-related information
- technical and operational information such as IP addresses contained in server logs, browser type when using our website, device identifiers and labels used for licensing or synchronization, application version, and diagnostic information that you choose to provide when requesting support
- support correspondence and account-related communications
We do not intentionally collect more personal data than is reasonably necessary to operate the website, process orders, provide software access, and support customers.
3. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
- process and fulfill purchases
- issue software licenses and activation details
- provide downloads, updates, and customer support
- detect fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems

4. Purchases and Payment Processing
Note Weaver subscriptions may be purchased directly from Fiction Loom, through Apple’s App Store, or through Google Play. The payment provider for the selected purchase channel processes payment-method, billing, tax, and store-account information under its own privacy policy.
Fiction Loom does not receive or store complete payment-card details from Paddle, Apple, or Google.
4.1 Direct Purchases Through Paddle
Paddle acts as the merchant of record for direct purchases. Paddle processes payment, billing, tax, fraud-prevention, and order information.
Fiction Loom may receive information needed to fulfill and support the purchase, such as the customer’s name, email address, country, purchased product, transaction identifier, subscription status, and relevant order information.
Paddle handles buyer data including contact, location, billing, and payment information and may provide sellers with data needed for fulfillment, support, and fraud prevention. Paddle GDPR information
4.2 Purchases Through Apple’s App Store
Apple processes App Store payments and Apple Account billing information.
To verify a purchase, provision a Fiction Loom license, restore purchases, and maintain subscription status, Fiction Loom may receive or process:
- The email address entered into Note Weaver
- The purchased product identifier
- Transaction and original transaction identifiers
- App Store receipt or signed transaction information
- Purchase validation results
- Subscription status, renewal, cancellation, expiration, refund, or revocation notifications
Fiction Loom does not receive the customer’s complete payment-card details or Apple Account password.

4.3 Purchases Through Google Play
Google processes Google Play payments and Google Account billing information.
To verify a purchase, provision a Fiction Loom license, restore purchases, and maintain subscription status, Fiction Loom may receive or process:
- The email address entered into Note Weaver
- The purchased product identifier
- The Google Play purchase token
- Application package information
- Purchase validation results
- Subscription status, renewal, cancellation, expiration, refund, or revocation notifications
Fiction Loom does not receive the customer’s complete payment-card details or Google Account password.
Google recommends sending purchase tokens to a secure backend for verification and using real-time developer notifications to maintain entitlement status. Google Play backend integration
5. License And Fulfillment Systems
We may use third-party infrastructure to provision and manage software licenses, downloads, and activation workflows.
Where this is necessary, relevant purchase and customer information may be shared only to the extent needed to provide the service.
6. Legal Bases
Depending on your location, we process personal information because:
- it is necessary to perform a contract with you
- it is necessary for our legitimate business interests
- it is required to comply with legal obligations
- you have given consent where consent is required

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for:

8. Notes, Images, and Synchronization (Relevant to Note Weaver Users)
Notes and embedded images are stored on the user’s devices. When synchronization is enabled, note and asset data is encrypted on the originating device before being transmitted. Fiction Loom’s synchronization infrastructure relays encrypted data and does not receive readable note or image content.
Fiction Loom may retain operational information needed to provide synchronization, such as account and license identifiers, device identifiers and labels, synchronization state, presence records, timestamps, network addresses contained in server logs, and security or diagnostic events.
Encrypted note and asset payloads are relayed transiently and are not retained as permanent readable or encrypted document storage on Fiction Loom servers.
9. Data Sharing
We may share information with:
- Paddle for payment processing, merchant-of-record functions, and tax handling
- Apple for App Store payment processing, purchase verification, and subscription-status management
- Google for Google Play payment processing, purchase verification, and subscription-status management
- hosting, infrastructure, analytics, email, support, or license-service providers where needed
- legal or regulatory authorities where required by law
We do not sell personal information. We disclose personal information only when necessary to provide and secure our services, fulfill purchases, comply with legal obligations, or respond to the user’s request.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on the hosting, payment, infrastructure, and support services used to operate Fiction Loom.
